For your sweetest vacation yet.

Ask them!

We could keep telling you all we do, and all that we have done, and all that we might be able to do, but maybe it’d be more helpful for you to read some stories from people just back from vacation about the truly unique experiences that they have had working with Candy Cain Travel. They’ll tell you better than we ever could.

Michelle and her family booked through Candy Cain Travel a family vacation to Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Here is a recap of her vacation, as compared to last year’s family vacation elsewhere.

The major difference between Dreams and Beaches was the size!! You couldn’t even compare it. Dreams was like 1/5 the size of Beaches. So in that respect it was easier to walk from place to place. The weather was actually better for that time of year. It was chilly at Beaches and cloudy. The weather was PERFECT in the D.R.
There were a few things I didn’t like but nothing that would prevent me from NOT recommending it…for one, in the rooms there were no drawers. I like to unpack a bit and not live out of suitcases and there wasn’t one drawer to put anything in. Second, the excursions were so far away, you would have to leave at 7 am, drive an hour and a half to get to the boat, be out all day and drive an hour and a half back to arrive home at 7pm so we didn’t do it. That was disappointing. The food was good, but of course the language barrier is always an issue at the restaurants and just in general. Believe it or not the water was “dirty” meaning a lot of seaweed. They were proactive about getting it cleaned off the beach but it was never ending. everyday more and more so I didn’t care for the ocean. the pools were great though.

Michelle organized a professional photo shoot for her family at the resort.

The things we loved about it was the variety of food. they had 6 restaurants AND an all you can eat big “cafeteria” type place. The service was outstanding. The rooms was very nice. the Preferred club was a bit overrated I have to say. The beach was wider/ more room to lounge out at Dreams. The location of our room was PERFECT. it was floor level and about 30 ft from the pool which is how I would love it to be!!!
Thank you so much for putting in a word for us about the upgrade.

Tony & Dot in St. Lucia

Just to say “Thanks”  for getting it all together for the trip to St. Lucia;  we had a wonderful week,  my grandsons loved it,  my husband basked under his palm trees,  the food was tasty (they seemed to change the a la carte menu’s to buffet too much)  -   my  husband was  looking for an italian dinner but then he is always looking for one of those!   The rest of us had no problem eating, the wonderful Caribbean flavors of the cooking on the island. It was really a beautiful resort,   and they were very good about moving me to a building closer to all the activities. Flights were no problem and on time if not early. So it was an extremely successful week and will be a wonderful lasting memory for all. The natural beauty of St. Lucia is really awesome. I forgot all my troubles! More important you got the job done,  I was amazed you pulled it together with no advance notice and it was really late for a holiday week.    I look at our souvenirs and just relax all over again.

Yeah Mon!! The wedding was absoulutely beautiful!!  The happiness of my son shined so brightly in his eyes that day, I will never forget the look!!  It brings tears to  my eyes!! Jenn is so beautiful inside that when she became the bride of the day, she was breath taking beautiful!! That smile of hers is contagious!! The people of Jamaica are so loving!! I really did not want to return home!!  We need as a people, to take lessons from them on being kind and happy despite what is going on in our lives.  God is very much a part of their lives!! See America we do need God in our lives!!!

We made some new friends from Jamaica and plan on staying in touch with them!! Nola, especially, the Carlyle Gift Shop lady, what a beautiful person!!  Crazy Ray, Paul, Myra, Ian, Curtis, so many I cannot remember their names – Carlyle staff is the BEST!!!!    Johnny, the boat man from Montego Bay!! What a wonderful guy he is!!!  He even showed up at my son’s wedding, because my son had invited him, it was great, he just came up in his boat to wish them congratulations!!!
I could write a book about my visit, so much happened and fun we had!!  I actually was writing in my journal of what we did, day by day!!!!

Despite all that I put you through about the dangers America presented before we were to leave!!!  We saw nothing to compare to what was being aired on news!!! Funny, thou, Jamaicans think Philly is what we thought of Jamaica!

Pictures were great!  I am sure Jenn has shared them with you!! My one experience I will not forget is jumping off the cliff at Rick’s Cafe at my age of 60!  Yes, I was sore for two weeks after, but now am back to normal!!! Thanks to a piece of Aloe plant the diver (Paul) got me to put on my black and blue legs and prayers!  And Dalton yelling, stay in the water for 3 minutes to help heal the sting and bruising!!!!  I still cannot believe I did that!!!

The wedding reception was lots of fun, all 22 of us were up dancing in a circle and having a wonderful time!! I would have never been as relaxed here at home if the wedding was here!!  Wes and Jenn made a good decision of having the wedding at Montego Bay!  There were some mishaps with wedding but for the most part we delt with it and had a bunch of fun!!!  The group of us that went were so much fun!!!

Thanks for all your help with Jenn and Wes in preparing for this most memorable day!!

Total on trip: 40

Location: Sandals Grande Ocho Rios, Jamaica

From Nicole: 40+ family and friends returned from the trip of a lifetime at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios Jamaica to celebrate my brother-in-law’s wedding. Candice was a dream to work with! She promptly answered all of my questions and took care of the little details that allowed my husband and I to travel stress free. She is loyal, eager to be of assistance, and works to find her clients the best deal. Although we live on opposite coasts, it’s because of her professionalism and knowledge that I look forward to working with her as we make future travel plans

Check back regularly for more love stories just beginning and happy vacations with Candy Cain Travel!

Amanda & Tony Yocco    Our wedding was wonderful! The sun was shining, and even though it was REALLY windy, it was everything I could of ever wanted. Sandals Royal Caribbean was great: The food, the entertainment, the pools & water sports… We enjoyed as much as we could while we were there! I have basically fallen in love with Jamaica. I know it can be dangerous but I really enjoyed every part of it and so did everyone else. All of us can’t wait to get back there!!

Everything went spectacular.  Christin was a beautiful bride.  Everyone had a great time, and the resort staff (at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios) were outstanding.  Both Kathy and myself enjoyed our accomodations very much.  I dont think anyone wanted to come home… Take care and hope we will be in touch soon to book another trip.
